Inspired by feminist artist Judy Chicago’s installation artwork, ‘The Dinner Party,’ we were sure to include an iconic placemat. Her work functions as a symbolic history of women in civilization with 39 elaborate place settings arranged along a triangular table for mythical and historical famous women - Sacajawea, Sojourner Truth, Eleanor of Aquitaine, Empress Theodora of Byzantium, Virginia Woolf, Susan B. Anthony, Georgia O'Keeffe are among the symbolic guests. Hand painted, braided, loomed and assembled, our placemats are a rare find from India and, of course, made by Indian women from villages in the southern part of Kerala.
Use and Care: Wipe clean with a damp cloth only after every use.
