Custom Couture Hats
Born in South Africa, Albertus Swanepoel is a New York based milliner. We worked with him to create a handmade custom neutral raffia hat for us or a soft felt delight, with our color palette grosgrain.
As Albertus says, he “honors the great craft of millinery and makes it relevant for today.” His hats are personal, not precious; reminiscent, not retro. And every hat is hand crafted in his studio, using the finest materials - exactly why he is such a Vogue darling. He has worked with brands such as Carolina Herrera, Alexander Wang and Proenza Schouler. He has created hats for people like Brad Pitt and Emma Watson and for TV shows namely, ‘Sex and the City’. He has also created costumes for Broadway’s ‘Hello, Dolly!’ and many more productions. The art of millinery, and the respect for the craft is alive and well with this creative giant.
