In ancient Greece, the symposium was an opportunity to drink together after dinner and on well the night while discussing ideas, dreams, and philosophy. It is with that ethos that we worked with glass smith and visual artist, Joan Biddle to create a range of custom glassware for us. She is a staff instructor at the Chrysler Museum of Art Glass Studio in Virginia and a maestro in the art of glass freeforming, which dates back to 1st century BC - involving blowing short puffs of air into a molten portion of glass called a ‘gather’ which has been spooled at the one end of a blowpipe.
